CLIX Portrait Photography Salutes the Military and Supports Local Children's Hospital

17 May 2006

CLIX portrait studio celebrates canton grand opening and offers military families a special way to capture the moment while also supporting local children's hospital.

CLIX™, an Atlanta-based, rapidly growing franchisor in the portrait photography industry, continues to expand nationally with the official Grand Opening of the first Michigan studio. The Canton CLIX will represent the ninth CLIX franchise studio operation for the company and the very first store opening in 2006. The first CLIX opened in New York State in August 2005.

The 2,000 square-foot studio located in the Canton Center Crossing Shopping Center is owned by husband and wife team, John and Naoko Vena of Plymouth, MI. The couple plans to open several additional stores across Southeastern Michigan. The Vena’s kick off the official CLIX Grand Opening of the new Canton studio with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 11:30 AM.

CLIX makes picture-taking exciting while providing high-quality, professional portraits customers can take home the same day. The studio is fun, friendly, hip and now, providing customers in-store portrait photography, special event photography and on-site, do-it-yourself and assisted photo imaging and design centers, which include digital scrapbooking and one hour digital photo production.

CLIX SALUTES THE MILITARY

As part of the Grand Opening celebration, CLIX announces two exclusive offers for a limited time only. Beginning May 23 through the end of the summer, families with a loved one in the Military based overseas are eligible to receive a free CLIX portrait sitting and two 8x10 photo sheets sent to their families APO/FRO address. The Vena’s chose to support local Military families as John is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has spent many successful years in the United Sates Navy.

CLIX SUPPORTS LOCAL HOSPITAL

During the official ribbon cutting ceremony, CLIX kicks off a community fundraiser for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor. CLIX will donate $5 per portrait package purchased from May 23 through June 22, 2006, to the hospital’s Save Our Hearts Foundation.

“Not only are we celebrating the Grand Opening of our first CLIX studio, but we want to show our support for the community,” says John Vena. “It is our goal to play an important role in the Michigan community and we selected these two ways to give back because they near and dear to our hearts. Naoko and I hope to contribute to the area by also forming longtime relationships and recording local activities, celebrations and occasions that will be forever documented.”

About CLIX

First established in 1999, the CLIX business model offers three distinct revenue streams for potential franchisees – a retail-based portrait studio; a protected territory for on-site special event photography; and on-site, assisted or do-it-yourself photo imaging and scrapbooking design services. According to David Asarnow, President and CEO of CLIX, a franchise with multi-faceted yet interconnected revenue streams is unprecedented in the industry. The company currently employs 56 people at nine stores across New York State, Pennsylvania and Michigan and plans to have 12 more stores open by October 2006.
