With more than 20 years of photography industry experience, ranging from serving as a combat photographer for the US military, to overseeing product development at Hewlett-Packard, Yahoo!, Eastman Kodak as well as key management positions with a selection of start-up Internet imaging companies, Corkran brings extensive domain knowledge of the critical challenges facing creators and buyers of digital images. His considerable product development and marketing expertise will help Digital Railroad provide the ideal solutions to those challenges. Having served on Digital Railroad’s Board of Advisors since 2003, Corkran has already played a key role in the rapid growth of the company and the creation and development of its innovative solutions.

Corkran recently served as Experience Architect for Hewlett-Packard’s consumer digital photography business. He also headed product development at Pixology Ltd. and at PictureIQ, an Adobe-backed start-up. Corkran also served as Senior Producer at Yahoo! Photos. While at Eastman Kodak, he directed Internet imaging strategies and brand identity for Kodak online.
Corkran’s photography background includes covering Europe, Africa and Middle East activities for the Pentagon, and he earned a Bronze Star for aerial combat photography in the Gulf War. He has also been represented by Sygma photo agency (currently Corbis), covering newsworthy events in Washington, D.C. and across the United States and Europe. His photography is featured in the book “Eye of Desert Storm,” winner of the Leica Award of Excellence. His work continues to be published internationally.
Corkran holds an M.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Photography from Syracuse University.
