Digital Video Products Inc. (DVP) Outlines Innovative Strategies

14 April 2005

Digital Video Products Inc. (DVP) outlined some innovative strategies today to market and support Amalgamated Video International Inc. (AVI) 2005 product line. DVP, a new startup company, is led by business executive Jim Roberts who has over 20 years of experience in information technology, consumer product development, entertainment distribution, and managing startup companies. “When I first saw AVI’s Producer Mark II in action last year, I said ‘That’s it!’ a solution to create, and broadly distribute powerful visual messages to a wide audience at a moderate cost.” said Jim Roberts, CEO of DVP. “Here are products that speak video producers’ language and can enable whole new revenue streams. They can go just about anywhere, setup quickly, capture and edit content, and distribute it for a much lower cost then ever before.”

Earlier this year, DVP formed a strategic alliance with AVI to handle marketing of AVI products, and expand support for its dealer network. DVP plans include forming partnerships with educational and faith-based consortiums to accelerate product into the market. Dealers who currently service the needs of media producers and rental houses will be provided with incentives to showcase and sell the AVI product line. Training on equipment, and approaches to exploit new revenue streams will be easily available onsite and online. Roberts adds, “Our products are enablers. We enable the user to increase productivity, work smarter, create better visual communications and leverage creative talent.”

The alliance calls for a dual brand strategy, an AVI-DVP approach. AVI will participate primarily in research and development activities to deliver prototype systems, and DVP will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing, marketing and distribution support for the products. “At AVI, we think inside the box, we listen to the video producers needs, and deliver affordable portable production units that are reliable and easy to use,” states Ron Sheckler, Founder and Chairman of AVI. “DVP is thinking across all the boxes, and partnering with our customers to bring the best solutions and profit-enablers to market,” adds Jim Roberts. “The attendees at NAB will be there to see who is spreading the seeds for the next wave in video production and content distribution. AVI, with its 2005 product line, is positioned to lead this next wave.”
