Global Imaging Systems Acquires Imaging Concepts of New Mexico30 March 2006
Global Imaging Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: GISX) announced today that it has acquired Imaging Concepts of New Mexico, Inc., headquartered in Albuquerque, with an additional sales office in Santa Fe, NM. The new acquisition sells and services Sharp copiers, fax and multifunction products for complete office technology solutions. Imaging Concepts, with annual revenues of approximately $7 million, will operate as a part of Denver-based Lewan & Associates, one of Global Imaging's largest core companies. Global Imaging President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Shea said, "The people at Imaging Concepts are top quality professionals and this is a strategic acquisition of a key independent dealer. Founder and President Curt Richter, III, has built a growing and profitable business, and we are especially pleased to have Curt continue as president of our New Mexico operations." Jim Arnold, CEO of Lewan, said, "Imaging Concepts has built a strong reputation in the New Mexico market, distributing the same Sharp brand of office automation equipment that we have at our Lewan locations. We also complement each other as our markets are growing both geographically and demographically. Colorado and New Mexico also have increasing hi-tech components within their business communities, and New Mexico is home to an important part of the U.S. Defense Department. The acquisition expands our customer base and gives us more comprehensive coverage of the Front Range market." Global Imaging Systems offers thousands of middle-market customers a one- stop shop for office technology solutions in 30 states and the District of Columbia. The company provides a broad line of office technology solutions including the sale and service of automated office equipment, network integration services, and electronic presentation systems.
