KEVRO Art & Photography Gallery in Delray Beach Fl Celebrating Five Years Artist-Owned

21 November 2005

Kevin Rouse, 42, commonly known as Kevro, was born in Chicago and raised in Florida. He is a graduate of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, working as a photographer, installation artist, impressionistic and abstract oil painter, and All America City national award-winning designer.
Recent press includes the sixty-year-old American Society of Media Photographers naming Kevin as a “rising star.” Photo Marketing Association International, the world’s largest, says, “Many artists are never appreciated in their own time, but Rouse may just avoid that cruel fate.” PMA featured Kevin and his work on the cover of their 100-plus countries international magazine. Candice Russell of Eye on the Arts says, “Kevro is a haven for fine art and photography lovers.” Art Business News editor’s forum selected Kevro as the latest, most exciting, most innovative releases from publishers, artists and galleries worldwide. Great Output of Rangefinder featured Kevin’s “spectacular work” among those of famed DeWolfe, Stevens, Butcher and Katzman.
Locally, Kevin serves the community including significant contributions to Art Walk among others; He was honored with the Ken Ellingsworth Community Service Award. Gulfstream Group publishes Kevin as a “man of action.” Currently, he serves as Co-Chair of the new Public Art Advisory Board for the City of Delray Beach.
Personally, Kevin credits his success to an early start in the study of art and photography. As a child he began painting with his artist mother and had his first professional photography commission at age 13. As a young man he won the gold key award three years in a row. After graduating from the art institute he worked as a photography apprentice for Denny Tillman in New York City. Following his apprenticeship he worked as an imaging pioneer for Multi Image Group of Boca Raton for fifteen years. Today, Kevin’s artist-owned gallery KEVRO in downtown Delray Beach is celebrating five years. Kevin expresses deep gratitude to his collectors.
Just after Hurricane Wilma, Kevin’s four foot by five foot large format black & white photography Tree series were exhibited at the Gallery Center in Boca Raton for the first time. Three of his pieces sold in the first hour. The buzz is tremendous.

Recently, Kevin directed and produced his first short, a poetic art film titled, ‘If Only I Were A Tree.’ Kevin’s primary art focus is trees. His large format photography and original video capture series depicts the struggle and the beauty of all living sculpture. Kevin says, “Photography is the art of the new millennium.”
