Konica Minolta Introduces the bizhub(TM) C450P Color Printer18 October 2005

U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today introduced the bizhub(TM) C450P. With
print speeds of 35 pages-per-minute (ppm) color and 45 ppm B&W, the bizhub
C450P is the fastest full-color printer with 12" x 18" print size capability
(305 x 449 mm image area). The bizhub C450P is ideal for color-oriented
offices that are interested in a high speed, high quality printer with
advanced finishing capabilities, including saddle-stitch booklet making,
folding, and two- and three-hole punching.

High Speed, High Quality Printing
At the heart of the new bizhub C450P is the Konica Minolta-developed
Emperon Print System, featuring PCL5c/PCL6c/PS3 emulation. The Emperon Print
System provides for total integration of document output management, with a
consistent user interface and functionality across Konica Minolta products.
In addition, the transmit-once/RIP-once/print-many bizhub C450P joins together
an IBM PowerPC 600 MHz processor, 64 Bit technology (512K Level 2 cache), 512
MB of standard printer memory, 10/100 Base-T, 600 x 1800 dpi enhanced print
resolution, and Konica Minolta Simitri(R) Color Polymerized Toner, for
unmatched full-color printing for any office environment.

Enhanced Imaging and Paper Handling
With 256 levels of grayscale per pixel and 600 x 1800 dpi enhanced print
resolution, the bizhub C450P produces clear text, sharp edges and consistent
color. The bizhub C450P uses Konica Minolta Simitri(R) Color Polymerized
Toner, which maintains the uniformity of the toner particles for more even
distribution, significantly better halftone definition and better solid fills.
The bizhub C450P easily meets an office's wide variety of printing needs,
with its monthly maximum duty cycle of 125,000 impressions, standard 150-sheet
intelligent bypass tray, expandable paper capacity up to 3,400 sheets, the
ability to handle up to 140 lb.-index through all trays, and envelope feeding.
Advanced Finishing Options Set bizhub C450P Apart
The bizhub C450P offers advanced finishing capabilities, providing
increased productivity to color-intensive users. With the FS-603 Booklet
Finisher, sorting, stapling, and saddle-stitch booklet making (for up to 60-
page booklets), as well as two- and three-hole punching, has never been
easier. Also offered for the bizhub C450P is the FS-507 Staple Finisher, with
sort, group, corner staple, and two- and three-hole punching functionality.
PageScope Suite Provides Document Processing and Network Management
Functions
Available for the bizhub C450P is the PageScope Software Suite, Konica
Minolta's robust family of integrated software applications and utilities that
help businesses save time, reduce costs and increase productivity. The
PageScope Software Suite delivers networked information flow from the desktop,
enabling businesses to manage their bizhub documents and bizhub devices more
effectively through a single interoperative system for increased efficiency.
Included in this suite of products is PageScope Net Care, which provides
network administrators with detailed information about the operating
conditions of all output devices containing a Management Information Base
(MIB) on a network from any Web browser.
Also included is PageScope Web Connection, which allows users to instantly
check device conditions on all network-connected Konica Minolta
printers/copiers from their desktop. By using the information available from
Net Care and Web Connection, businesses can lower management costs and
maintain the optimum operability of their devices.
Advanced Document Security
Because document security and the way documents are handled and managed
have become increasingly important, the bizhub C450P supports Hard Disk Drive
Overwrite and Job Erase, which automatically overwrites the hard disk drive
after each job (optional 40 GB hard drive required). In addition, the bizhub
C450P offers User Authentication with NDS capability to protect a user job by
prohibiting its modification or deletion.
Konica Minolta's bizhub Open API, which enables the control of the printer
from external applications, and hard drive encryption software will be
available at the end of 2005 for the bizhub C450P.
