LRS Debuts Latest Curbside Solution at NRA 2005

22 May 2005

Long Range Systems Inc. (LRS), the leading innovator of onsite wireless solutions, will debut their first all-in-one curbside solution at the National Restaurant Show.
The system is ideal for restaurantsdemanding improved takeaway service. "This is one of the hottest products
we've ever released and customers are already asking for it," said JimLivingston, Vice President of Sales for LRS. "Our curbside system is the onlysystem that can benchmark service times and actually improve productivity."
The new system is a fully integrated PC and camera. However, unlike mostcamera systems, the LRproprietary software can monitor up to four lanes on asingle camera and page a server/runner when a guest arrives in the parkingspot.
The touch screen monitor prompts the server to "greet" the guest and
records the time. When the car pulls out of the spot, the total service time
is recorded. The main screen of the curbside PC shows a running average of
greet times, total service times and number of cars served. At any time, the
manager can see how the restaurant is doing. It can even send this data to a
manager's pager periodically throughout the evening.

The reporting capabilities are the best. Restaurants can view daily,
weekly and monthly reports showing average greet times and total service
times. A manager can also set service thresholds and be paged if those
service times are exceeded. Livingston adds, "It's all about speed of
service. If we can set benchmarks for restaurants, I know they will see
dramatic improvements to curbside service times."
Through LRS' Internet Sharing capabilities, a chain can share data and
compare service times at different locations in regions or around the country.
Some chains have used inexpensive cameras and "drive-in movie" style
poles. This wastes labor and requires dedicated employees to give the same
level of service as an LRS system. In states where snow is plentiful,
snowplows would instantly wipe out curbside poles and render the restaurant
ineffective for curbside service. Also, restaurant properties that are leased
have difficult challenges regarding parking lot construction.
"We believe we have the solution everyone has been waiting for," said
Livingston. "It's simple to install, requires minimal labor, benchmarks
service times, and is affordable."
The Complete Curbside System is available for $4995. If you'd like to
know more about improving curbside times, call LRS at (800) 437-4996.
