New KODAK Zoom One-Time Use Camera with Flash Expands Premium Camera Portfolio20 February 2005
Eastman Kodak Company today announced the KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera, the world's first 35 mm zoom one-time-use camera with flash. In recent studies by Kodak, consumers indicated zoom as one of the top benefits needed from a one-time-use camera and rated "getting closer to a subject" as the top reason why they wanted to try the new one-time-use camera. The KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera magnifies subjects by 35 percent when using the zoom setting.
"Even as we continue to expand our business into new digital markets, one-time-use cameras remain in high demand," said Greg Vance, Digital & Film Imaging Systems Marketing Manager, Kodak Canada Inc. "The introduction of premium one-time-use cameras like the KODAK Zoom camera helps to drive category excitement."
For consumers, one-time-use cameras provide a convenient and cost-effective option to supplement their digital photography habits, whether taking pictures in a location not well suited for a digital camera or as a way to keep the entire family involved in photography.
Specifically, the new KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera delivers better picture quality than comparable 35 mm reloadable zoom cameras and has the ease and convenience of a traditional KODAK one-time-use camera. By bringing subjects 35 percent closer, KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera gives consumers greater picture-taking flexibility and control, making subjects larger and reducing unwanted background.
With the KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera, consumers can easily switch lens settings and choose to take their pictures with or without using the zoom feature. The KODAK Zoom one-time-use camera contains KODAK MAX Versatility 800-speed 35 mm film. With the flash, it can be used in both outdoor and indoor environments. Like Kodak's other premium one-time-use cameras, it includes an EKTANAR lens for sharp, well-focused pictures.
The retail price for KODAK Zoom one-time-use-camera is expected to range from CDN12.99 - CDN$14.99, varying by retailer. The product will be in broad distribution in Canada by the second quarter of 2005.
