New to the Throne -- Sony A100 Digital SLR is 'King of Features'

9 July 2006

(PRWEB) July 8, 2006 -- The Sony A100 Digital SLR is proudly boasting looks and brains with its compact, light, ergonomic design. It's extremely comfortable to hold as it's design allows user's finger falls naturally onto the control wheel. Just behind is the shutter release button which reacts perfectly to touch. The lens mount is compatible with Konica, Minolta Maxxum/Dynax, Sony and Carl Zeiss lenses. Even more impressive -- Sony are promising to have 21 lenses on offer by the end of the year, ranging from 11-18mm wide zoom to 300mm telephoto lenses.

New to the throne -- the A100 is King of features. It has a 10.2-mega pixel APS-C size sensor and a anti-dust coating, if this doesn't do the job -- the anti-dust vibration system which kicks in every time the power is lowered definitely should.

The impressive Eye-Start system activates the auto-focus as soon as the camera is raised to the eye, meaning the need to half-press the shutter release button is history. Once the auto focus has done its job the next clever feature comes in to play -- the Super SteadyShot image stabilisation, for those days when the DTs are inevitable, is really effective. It uses a compact flash memory card, and comes with an adapter to enable use with the Memory Stick Pro card from the Sony PSP.

The A100 will be available at three prices, £600 for the main body, £700 including the 18-70mm lens and £850 for a twin-lens kit. It is expected to be on sale in UK stores by the end of July.
