OmniVision Adds Key Customer for Lane Departure Warning Systems

26 May 2006

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), a leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip(TM) solutions for high-volume imaging applications, announced today that, for the first time, it is supplying CameraChips to a leading automotive equipment supplier for use in Lane Departure Warning Systems. This represents the second major application in which OmniVision is establishing itself in the automotive sector. Its CMOS sensor products are now moving into volume production to meet ramping demand for rearview camera systems and lane departure warning systems.

"Supplying automotive camera chips to a market leader is a significant achievement for OmniVision," said Hasan Gadjali, OmniVision's Vice President of Advanced Products. "This new relationship enhances OmniVision's position as a major CMOS sensor technology component supplier to the automotive industry."

OmniVision offers a wide range of sensors with small footprint, low voltage, low power consumption in color and B&W specifically designed for the automotive market. These image sensors are specifically designed to meet the stringent automotive reliability standards known as AEC Q-100. In particular, they operate over a wide temperature range and offer exceptional low-light sensitivity, both of which are essential for automotive applications,.
