Panoratio Unveils Next-Generation Data Access and Analysis Solution16 May 2006
Panoratio today announced the release of version 3.5 of its database imaging technology, which gives companies new ways to unleash the power of the Portable Database Image (PDI) file format. This file format has the potential to become a new industry standard for companies that aim to better leverage complex data sets for greater profitability, timely business analysis and syndication to employees and customers. "The current global installed base of business analysis application users is in a bind. They face a growing need to deliver complex analytics on their enterprise data, yet the majority of software they use today is only effective for reporting and drill down," said Brett S. Kilpatrick, CEO of Panoratio Database Images, Inc. "By adding Panoratio to a company's business analysis solution stack, companies gain a powerful competitive advantage. Panoratio securely delivers direct, immediate access to complete complex datasets, giving analysts greater autonomy and efficiency, in addition to the newfound ability to recognize and exploit patterns in their enterprise data that were once invisible." The latest release of the Panoratio PDI solution enables companies to bolster any business analysis solution that has an ODBO or Java interface with the power of the PDI. With the PDI, companies can obtain an interactive image of an entire database -- regardless of the size and complexity -- in a file format small enough to run in memory on today's PCs and laptops. The PDI provides unparalleled access to enterprise data, giving users the ability to conduct sophisticated analyses in seconds where they take hours, days or even weeks with current methods. The core elements of Panoratio 3.5 include the patented PDI file format, the Panoratio Generator, the engine that reduces the footprint of complex data sets to create PDI files, and the Panoratio Explorer, a smart data analysis tool that leverages the power of the PDI to deliver query results in seconds, with built-in intelligence capabilities. Notable new features and functions in Panoratio 3.5 are: ODBO and Java interfaces for connectivity with common analysis tools - The Panoratio solution is now plug and play with most database and business intelligence solutions. Excel reporting - Panoratio users can now create, format and update Excel reports detailing the new information discovered through Panoratio Explorer. The Excel reports can be seamlessly updated when a new PDI is created. Panoratio Explorer plug-ins - The Panoratio Explorer now provides a framework to allow customers to build their own extensions to increase the capabilities of the already powerful Panoratio Explorer. The plug- ins enable the dynamic creation of new dimensions for analysis based on user-selected criteria. The plug-ins also allow customers to build domain-specific calculations and algorithms right into the Panoratio Explorer, increasing their ability to analyze data in their specific fields of expertise and business markets. Significant performance improvements - Panoratio continues to improve on the patented algorithms for performance and degree-of-compaction with each release. The new multi-threaded PDI explorer enables near-linear performance improvements per processor in a multi-processor environment, as compared to previous versions. Pricing and Availability The Panoratio PDI Solution, including the Panoratio Generator and the Panoratio Explorer are available immediately. Pricing starts at $37,500. About Panoratio Database Images, Inc. Panoratio Database Images, Inc. was founded out of the Siemens Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning laboratory to solve the challenge of analyzing continuous data feeds from 2,000 sensors in the Siemens Power Generation division. The resulting solution, deployed today throughout Siemens Power Generation plants worldwide, is the Panoratio Generator and the data- dense PDI file format. Recognizing the ubiquitous value of the solution, Siemens spun off the company with inventors Dr. Reimar Hofmann and Dr. Michael Haft and established Panoratio in 2003. The company opened U.S. operations in 2005. Panoratio investors include Siemens Venture Capital, Silicon Valley, L-EA/SEED, Deutsche Venture Capital Gesellschaft, and PolyTechnos Venture Partners.
