Sanyo Vietnam To Make Digital Cameras

SANYO HOME APPLIANCES VIETNAM CORP. (Sanyo Vietnam) expects its digital camera manufacturing plant to begin operations in May 2005. The factory has an annual production capacity of one million units in the first two years and 5 million cameras in 2007.

* Sanyo Vietnam has invested US$13 million in the factory, which is located in the Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park in southern Dong Nai province.

* The company, which also produces home appliances such as washing machines and fridges, hopes to book a turnover of US$67 million in the 2004 fiscal year, which ends in April.
