Small but Efficient Internet Firm Creates Personalized Calendars and More

6 October 2005

Unique holiday presents that are
easy to shop for are the dream of many consumers. Changing fantasy to reality
is a new, Internet-based company that helps create personalized calendars,
greeting cards and other gifts using your digital photos.
MyMagicMemories is the web firm that produces handy items with personal
pictures and information, with just a few clicks of a mouse. It serves
customers throughout the United States.
A 28-person company, MyMagicMemories uses an automated workflow that makes
it possible to compete with industry giants.
"From anywhere, customers can easily reach us at http://www.mymagicmemories.com,"
said Scott Nowokunski, sales and marketing director for MyMagicMemories. "We
have a unique product line and we're easy to use. We keep it simple for our
customers, with minimum clicks per transaction."
Think of a multi-page, glossy planner/calendar such as book stores sell,
but with the theme of your family photos rather than cats or classic cars,
said Nowokunski. MyMagicMemories needs only favorite snapshots to produce any
quantity desired. The company can also make a coloring book with a certain
youngster's likeness on the cover.
A popular new product is a blanket that's all-the-warmer for the personal
picture on it. Think of the comforter as a fuzzy frame, Nowokunski said.
"Photos of newborns are popular for the blanket," said Nowokunski, who
added that pictures can be either color or black-and-white and can include the
baby's birth date, name and weight.
"Our core audience is a mother with small kids, a digital camera and a
fast Internet connection," he said. With a smile, he added that digital
cameras were the number one Christmas gift last year.
"Customers can do all their shopping from computer screens, which makes
our products convenient as well as unique," he said. "It's an automated
process. They upload their photos and submit their text. We do the printing
and delivery."
Prices start at $9.95 and products typically ship within 24-48 hours.
MyMagicMemories delivers nationally.
Other products that MyMagicMemories can customize with treasured photos
are monthly planners, single-page calendars, table place mats and greeting
cards in three sizes.
MyMagicMemories was created to fill a market niche that was largely
unserved, Nowokunski said. The company's workflow automation allows its small
staff to compete successfully with Fortune 500 firms, he added. Larger
companies such as Snapfish, Kodak Imaging Network (formerly Ofoto) and
Shutterfly offer Internet-based photo services, but they concentrate on
helping customers share photo files rather than on personalized products.
MyMagicMemories promotes its personalized products on search engines such
as Google and Yahoo. Nowokunski said the big push is on now to make
MyMagicMemories top-of-mind for those deciding on holiday presents. He hopes
soon to expand the web-based firm's products and customer awareness so that it
is popular year-round.
MyMagicMemories is a division of Integraphx, a Charlotte, NC-based
integrated graphics communication company.
