Sony ImageStation Connects to Wal-Mart Canada Stores to make Photo Printing Easier for Customers

31 March 2006

Maintaining its commitment to offer consumers choices for their digital imaging needs, Sony's ImageStation(R) online photo service is working with Wal-Mart Canada to offer same-day digital prints in-store. Consumers can now upload their digital images from their home/personal computers to ImageStation.com and can choose to pick up their photo prints at their local Canadian based Wal-Mart store. At ImageStation.com, consumers configure and confirm their order which is then shipped to the nearest Wal-Mart for pick-up. A store locator on ImageStation.com helps consumers locate the nearest Wal-Mart. This service will only be available for Wal-Mart Canada customers.

"We want to offer more choices for consumers," said Bob Nell, vice president of Sony ImageStation at Sony Electronics. "Our partnership with Wal-Mart Canada aligns with our goal to provide an easy to use online photo service that allows our customers to choose between having photo prints delivered to their home or available for pick up at their local retailer."

ImageStation customers who opt for the in-store pick up service continue to benefit from the storage, sharing and additional ImageStation membership features they currently enjoy. There is no additional service charge or delivery fee for in-store pick-up, regardless of the number of prints ordered. The in-store service is for print orders only and prices, determined by Wal-Mart, may vary. Most Wal-Mart orders placed via ImageStation.com can be ready for pick up in as little as one hour.

"Wal-Mart is focused on making things easy for all our digital photo customers and offering digital prints for Sony Electronics' ImageStation users is a part of this ongoing effort," said Tony Hugens, Business Development Photo Centre Online at Wal-Mart Canada.

PhotoChannel Networks Inc. (TSX-V: PNI; OTCBB: PHCHF) ("PhotoChannel" or "PNI"), the leading innovator of online digital media solutions for retailers, integrated it's PNI Digital Media Platform with ImageStation and Wal-Mart to enable the in-store pick up of prints.

The new service aligns with ImageStation's "Share Everywhere" program, which offers its ImageStation users enhanced solutions for photo sharing through web-enabled camera phones, televisions, computers and portable entertainment systems.
