The New Revolution of Wedding Photographer3 April 2006
Fort Collins, Colorado (PRWEB) April 2, 2006 -- Photography is more than just a photograph; it is a medium in which a photographer conveys their true individuality. Jason Noel is not a photographer, who will just pose what's been done for the past 50 years; that for him is like nails on a chalkboard. Photography should be approached as an ever-changing art form and not as a standardized practice. With every click of the shutter he strives to create something vastly different from what's been done before, while still capturing the unique style of the subject. The wedding day is the most intimate day of a couple's life. Why take chances? The reality is that after the cake is eaten, the flowers have wilted and the tuxedos have been returned, the only thing left from the wedding day will be the memories -- and the photographs. Couples wouldn't let an amateur wire their house, would they? Why would they have an amateur capture the most important memories of their life? When Jason Noel was asked to describe the difference between a professional photographer and an amateur he stated that «An amateur takes your picture; A Photographer takes your Portrait.» The first step in Jason's approach: Jason feels it's important for everyone to focus on the photography well before any wedding. Spending time developing a proper wedding photography plan is a first significant step in determining what style of wedding is preferred. As an example; how many photos with families? Who are to be in which group photos? Couples may want their package to use a combination of photographic styles or entirely photojournalistic. As an example: using formal portrait family shots & groups shots before a wedding ceremony, followed by a combination of both photojournalistic and portrait from then on. What couples SHOULD look for in a photographer: First of all, the choice of the photographer should be based upon the photos they produce! This is the single most important part of the wedding and the only tangible remembrance that you will have in years to come. Yet it is the most overlooked area when brides are planning for their wedding. A photographer's style, personality and flexibility in dealing with the wedding couple on their wedding day are what separate a true professional photographer from the occasional or family/friend photographer! What couples ACTUALLY look for in a photographer: It is often asked: «How much do you charge for a wedding? What are the prices of your packages?» Unfortunately, without looking at a single photo or asking a single other question, price is most often the first concern when couples choose a wedding photographer. When first asking about price with no other comparison it unfortunately places all photographers as equals. Let's start out by saying that no two photographers are equal! Every photographer has their own unique style which separates themselves from their competition, and for that reason, the search for a photographer should involve more than just a single question. Since a large determining factor in who couples will go with is based upon the price, they should first decided what your overall budget is based on importance. Then research which photographer fits the style and budget that they had in mind. Film or Digital? There are many biases towards one or the other and it ultimately boils down to preference. Since Jason Noel solely photograph using digital, he will explain why this medium is superior and how it is more beneficial than film. When asking couples individually about whether they wanted digital cameras used instead of film their responses were: «I don't think so» is the first response of most brides and «Cool, can we do it honey?» is the first response of most grooms. Digital photography is fine for family reunions and posting pictures online, but who wants those kinds of pictures for their wedding? Couples would be quite surprised at the quality of digital photos done properly by a professional. Digital cameras are available that take as good or better quality pictures than taken by an expensive, traditional medium format Hasselblad or a Bronica film cameras. Photos look crisp and clear, not like the grainy pictures from years ago. Instead of film, digital cameras have a memory chip. The photos can be downloaded from the camera to a computer on site. This enables you and the photographer to determine if the photos are turning out the way you want them to. If there are any problems, you see them instantly and can re-shoot the photos. Once they are downloaded, you can email them all over the world, print proofs to show friends and family! After the wedding you can review your photos with your photographer on a computer screen. Retouching is easy and the options are endless. Couples can have their teeth straightened, erase wrinkles, minimize or remove a scar, cover a blemish or fix the broken fence in the background. Digital photography enables couples and their photographer to perfect the photos within minutes. With traditional film, retouching is arduous and requires hours in labor, not to mention the extreme costs. After couples decide on the photos they want in their album and reprinted, the photographer simply uses a high quality printer (not the kind you can buy in office supply stores), and archival photo paper to print the pictures in any size desired. This reduces the need for harmful chemicals used during film processing, thereby helping the environment. Couples also avoid the risk of scratching the negatives and because the images are on CD, it can be reproduced with very little costs. Many photographers are incorporating digital photography into their portfolios. Couples need to be aware of a few things when considering digital photography for their wedding. First and foremost, the camera may be a wonderful, advanced piece of technology, but the photographer still needs to be creative and talented to get the kind of photos the couple desires. Take the time to review the photographer's portfolio and discuss their creative talents. Digital photos look better due to the ease of touchups. When couples have the choice of fixing a stray hair or removing the bags from under their eyes, they will likely choose to do so. Digital photography has many benefits and is becoming just as popular as traditional photography.
