Wild Planet Toys Selects OmniVision Camera Chips for New Spy Video Car(TM)

11 July 2006

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), a leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip(TM) image sensor solutions for high-volume imaging applications, today announced it has been selected by Wild Planet Toys, Inc. to supply CameraChip products for their new Spy Video Car(TM). This is OmniVision's first project with Wild Planet.

"OmniVision's CameraChip image sensors were the best match for our product requirements in terms of size, price and performance," said Katie Broughton, Design Engineer at Wild Planet. "Along with its strong product portfolio, OmniVision is an innovative company. We are delighted with the results of our collaboration and we look forward to partnering with OmniVision on future projects."

The Spy Video Car is remote-controlled and equipped with a video camera and infrared night vision; it includes a headset, screen and hand-held controls. The toy was very well received at the International Toy Fair and is expected to be a hot product during the coming holiday season. It will be available online and at major retailers such as Target and Toys "R" Us beginning October 2006.

"Winning a new customer like Wild Planet is a major success for OmniVision," said Hasan Gadjali, OmniVision's Vice President for Advanced Products. "We've already established a solid position in karaoke, digital still camera and camcorder-type toys. Wild Planet provides us entry into many new segments of the toy market and we are excited about the beginning of a creatively productive relationship with them."
